Personality is the sum of innate temperament and character to forge social action on it. There is no innate psychological traits that define and distinguish human groups. Our identity is the basic personality, the complex decanting shared cultural traits as a result of historical evolution. TEMPERAMENT
However, our identity is imagined as more like learning destination. We take as a sign of a lively intelligence that rarely happens naive. We believe extroverts although psychological tests reflect balance between extroversion and introversion. Our violence is condemned, not remembering that has been suffered that exercised. The high rate of alcoholism, verbosity, the role of the mother in the family tempt accredit on oral fixation, which demonstrated no suggestion fails. CHARACTER
Our character is the complex interplay of needs, beliefs, values, attitudes, motivations and behaviors. A social system, economic and political inequality has given extremely severe shortages in meeting basic needs. For our majorities the difficult condition satisfaction of them is fundamental.
BELIEFS We believe in a complex amalgamation of Aboriginal myths, African and European syncretism tight. Our religion is earthly, sociable and festive, we are believers but few practitioners. We give much credit to intuition as a reason ¬. We worship of technological progress at the point of adopting uncritically. For centuries we wanted to instill a negative self-image. And yet we consider one of the happiest people in the world. VALUES
We are accused of lack of values, despite our apparent loyalty to the bonds of friendship, family and affections. In an extensive study on various aspects of the Venezuelan population conducted in the early sixties of last century, the Centre for Development Studies (CENDES) included a questionnaire to obtain information about the praise that most Venezuelans prefer different groups (Cendes : Study of Conflict and Consensus ). Maritza Montero summarizes the results in the chapter on "social values \u200b\u200band motivations" of the Manual Social Psychology (119-125). Most respondents preferred groups as praise be considered as a person "very capable" or "very educated. " In fact, 14 groups prefer the first over any other, and 13 the second. The choice of one of these accolades in the first place is almost always accompanied by another second place (this happens in 25 cases). Although respondents are made up of different groups of people whose weight in the country's demographics are very different, the correlation of the results is in our opinion significant. Also interesting is the relative unanimity on the praise least preferred. Literally all groups surveyed rate less desirable as the praise of "born to rule." In total 21 groups consider to be "very valuable person" as the second between the adjectives most rejected, 7 were in favor of "very religious" and 2 "to be very simple." Despite the reservations already mentioned about the different composition and representativeness of the samples, the coincidence is again significant. applied Rokeach values \u200b\u200btest on a sample of 677 young people, and found the following hierarchy of values: self-realization, sincere Friendship, Family Safety, Happiness, Freedom, Equality, inner harmony, respect for himself, a world in peace, wisdom, love mature, Prosperity, social recognition, a life full of excitement, pleasure, beauty, National Security, Salvation. As opposed to the abject attributions of savagery, tribalism and anarchy that we are passing on ordinary racism. ATTITUDES
