The Italian Cultural Institute and the Foundation Celarg presented in Caracas from 28 January February 26, 2010 the Italian Film Festival, which begins with the film Viaggio in Italia , (I'll love you forever) by Roberto Rossellini.
I will always love is the journey that made Alex (George Sanders) and Katherine (Ingrid Bergman), a mature marriage in crisis, an Italy in which everything is new and strange to them fascinating.
After years of living together, stay together out of habit, not to break the routine, perhaps not contradict the unwritten rules of the English bourgeoisie to which they belong, but do so quietly and almost without engaging in a look, a gesture, a detail to glimpse even a glimmer of affection.
These arise Italy, which both walk the crisis very differently by different routes as well as their different ways of dealing with the circumstances of his marriage. It's amazing how Rossellini gets identify the strangeness and the confusion it produces in the stars this new place, alien, incomprehensible and, to some extent, threatening, with the evolution of its own crisis.
The landscape, that reality to which I referred at the beginning, with its physical elements, but mostly air, is treated as a metaphor for the crisis of the couple.
Each new stage in the journey of the characters environment reveals, more evident that the very actions of the characters, the gradual deterioration of the relationship. But that level metaphorical landscape not only works for the viewer, it does so for the characters themselves, they evolve to the extent they are able to understand the evidence that will expose the environment.
